Fallout 4 For VR Coming October 2017
Virtual Reality versions of popular games look like they are about ready to start creating some serious buzz for the industry. If you’re looking to jump into one of these worlds then the wasteland of Fallout 4 VR could be just your thing, and it’s due October 2017!
The rumours are true. You’ll now be able to raise your arms to the sublime green gleam of pip boy, swinging left and right to browse the menus and switch between weapons, marking the start of a new era in virtual reality gaming. HTC Vive will offer an extremely capable platform for the Fallout franchise and other similar games.
There are also rumours that Fallout 4 will be available for other Virtual Reality platforms however due to the different design of each platform it’s difficult to know exactly what’s going to happen, but we’re hopeful something could be in the works! In theory the Oculus Rift could support the game but there are complications, mainly in the way that the touch controls for each platform use different programming and technologies.

So far we know that you’ll be free to teleport your way through the map although there is talk that there will also be an more realistic locomotion option to properly walk around, teleportation mode is the default because some people experience motion sickness while walking using VR. Using the intuitive HTC Vive you will even be able to move your gun around from hand to hand and examine its detail and and modifications you may have.
You will have the ability to crouch and lean around corners to fire at your enemies and dodge bullets, reach out with your hands in virtual 3D Fallout and hold or manipulate objects or use VR VATS slow-motion mode for focused aiming. Of course launching mini-nukes will be a breeze and expect an enhanced feel from the Power Armor.

We’re looking forward to seeing more of Pip-boy and also more of what’s in store for virtual reality platforms, hopefully Oculus can catch up!
